Charles & Ashley’s Hollywood Glam Wedding
“Ashley and Chas had their first date copying music for their jazz duo at a locally owned place called Maumee Quickprint. Since the two started playing music together, they realized they were falling in love and after two years and many songs, were engaged. Planning the wedding was made easier with the talented specialists at Bartz Viviano Flowers and Gifts (flowers, reception hall). The locations were decided upon and save the dates were sent. Ashley likes the 1920s and Chas wanted a morning coat with flaps on the back. From there, they chose light blue shade and called fourteen of their closest family and friends to participate in the wedding party fifteen with the groom’s niece, the flower girl, who wore a beautiful wreath and ran down the aisle.
The location of their wedding was St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on the corner of Conant and Broadway in Maumee. The church was full and the ceremony was beautiful. After assembling family photos in the church (the flower girl reached for the bride’s hand/so tender), the rest of the wedding party popped into a local hangout called The Village Idiot, known for live music and pizza. Photos by Yvonne had an impeccable artistic eye and took pictures along the strip and with wildflowers in the alley, which turned out to be the couple’s favorites!
Just a few miles away, the reception was put together with cream-colored linens and large candelabras on the third-floor ballroom of the Maumee River Yacht Club. Family photos in black and white hung on the walls and Ashley’s uncle played “Here Comes the Bride” on the bagpipes as they entered from the lot next to the Club. A jazz band from Toledo School for the Arts played out to the balcony. The dancing was kicked off with “Step in the Name of Love” and Ashley and Chas danced to “La Vie en Rose” a prelude to their honeymoon in Paris, France!
At the end of the night, many guests wandered into the park in front of the Yacht Club and alongside the river. Ashley and Chas linked arms and went back to their new home where music still plays through their windows.”
